Please help!! 3 hour gestational diabetes test while being sick?
I took my 3 hour gestational diabetes test while being sick with cough and cold for almost 3 weeks. I just came to know that I failed the test. My 1 hour test showed the number as 152. So I was sent to the 3 hour test. My fasting glucose level for 3 hour test came back as normal but rest of the 3 are high. Has me being sick affected the results?

If you exercise during your one hour gestational diabetes test, can it affect your results?
I took my one hour gestational diabetes test the other day and failed it. I got a result of 145, and my nurse said it was supposed to be under 140. While I was waiting for the hour to be up, I walked all around the hospital, which included walking up and down a few flights of stairs. I was fairly active during the one hour wait, and I was wondering if this affected my results in any way, and if so how?I took my 3 hour test yesterday and sat while I waited for the most part. I'll know my results tomorrow.

Is the gestational diabetes test necessary for not at risk patients?
My Dr requested that I test for gestational diabetes at my next appointment I will be 28 weeks then. I am not so sure I need to have it done, have a BMI of 22, am 25, no family history and no other risk factors for gestational diabetes or diabetes in general with my last 2 pregnancies the sugar drink made me very sick, I am also considered self pay and this does have something to do with my decision. Is this a test all patients need to do regardless of risk or can it be skipped when the patient has had no previous history of gestational diabetes or any other contributing risk factors?

Does anybody know about gestational diabetes tests?
Hi, I took the 1 hour gestational diabetes test last night and I see my results online as a 76...I have no idea if this is good or bad? I had to drink some juice, sit at the docs for an hour and then they drew blood. Does anybody know whats the highest you can get w o being considered having diabetes?

How to pass the gestational diabetes test?
I am 15 weeks pregnant and I have to take the test in about a month. For the past 3 years I have been extremely cautious about staying away from sugars of all kinds even fruit. I don't feel good when I eat sugar, and it gives me a rash. The problem is, they are going to make me drink this sugary mixture YUCK . Since I never eat sugar, I don't know how my body will handle it, and I don't want to be labeled as " high risk" when I know I am eating right for my baby.Anyone hear of any ways to " pass" the diabetes test. I heard that almonds help your body digest sugar. Any other ideas? Should I start eating sugar now, so that my body can handle the sugar test? For all those wondering why I would want to pass the test. The test is to tell me if my baby will be harmed b c of the effect sugar has on my body. Well, if I NEVER eat sugar then the test is invalid to me... the only thing it will do is tell my dr. to put me in a category labeled " high risk" which will in turn make me more likely to have a cesection. Drs like to give c sections.

Lowering blood sugar levels 15 points? This is for a gestational diabetes test?
Ok as you might have figured out I recently had the sugar test done when you are pregnant. And I was above the average by 15 points. It was non fasting so not sure if that played a part in it being slightly above average. I go next Wednesday for the 3 hour blood sugar test, which is a fasting test. 3 days prior to the test I am supposed to carb load 200 grams for the 3 days, and then fast for 12 hours the day before the test. I understand that part. My question is this. How can I lower my sugar without medication or insulin? And for the carb loading what are some healthy options? Thanks to those who take the time to answer. I hope my question was clear enough.

If I eat before my 3 hour gestational diabetes test will it make me fail?
I failed my one hour gestational diabetes test only with a 146 which isn't that bad but enough that my OBGYN wants me to take the 3 hour test. I was told that the three hour test is a fasting test but the problem is I get really sick if I dont eat when my body says I'm hungry. If I eat before I go in for my test will it make my blood sugar levels come out high? Thank you for your help.

Is it ok to eat sweets before gestational diabetes testing?
We had a bake sale for work today and all the leftovers are here and are VERY tempting I'm supposed to get tested for gestational diabetes in the morning. Will eating sweets the night before affect the results of my test?Sorry I should have added this. I'm at no known risk of diabetes. It's just a thing they check for. I just hardly eat sweets and seeing them while being pregnant is making me want them I just didn't want to make the test inaccurate since I hardly eat sweets. My test came back negative. That night I had a piece of white cake with whipped white frosting, a brownie topped with powdered sugar, chocolate chip ice cream, and 2 glasses of orange juice and 2 glasses of water. What a pig ha ha

Does anyone know why the glucola you drink for gestational diabetes tests is not carbonated?

Can taking antibiotics affect the results of gestational diabetes test?
I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks before the 2hr test, is it possible that they affected the results.

How long do I need to fast before the 3 hour gestational diabetes test?
I failed the one hour test, and am taking the 3 hour test at 8 30am tommorrow. The doctor mentioned fasting, but I was still in bed and groggy when hubbie came in with the phone and I missed how long I was supposed to fast for.I know it was 2 hours for the one hour test, but I think it is longer for the 3 hour test?

Taking antibiotics during gestational diabetes test?
I failed the one hour test and they had me come back for the 3 hour hell test, I fasted for it, but they told me I could have water and still take my antibiotic for the sinus and kidney infections that I had at the time before coming in. I then failed the 3 hour test and they said I had gestational diabetes. I changed my diet, but only mildly and have been testing with the meter for a few days now but all of my readings are around the 100 mark, well below the 140 that I need to be under. I was wondering if the antibiotics could have given a false positive for the diabetes?

How does taking the gestational diabetes test for 15 min. late after drinking the solution effect the result?
