Are rage behaviors linked to childhood diabetes?
My 5 year old suffers violent rages hitting, biting, kicking, etc and we have not been able to determine the source. Her doc swore there is no connection between what she eats and how she behaves we are currently seeking a different doc . She finally ran a blood test, but not a tolerance test, and declared her non diabetic. I am not diabetic myself, but have blood sugar issues. I guess pre diabetic or something is the term now, and I know it affects my temper if I dont keep tabs on everything. Hers seems worse when she has sugar, but not always. I guess, I am just wondering if others out there have the same thing. She is totally sweet and loving at all other times.

Childhood Diabetes Question and Concerns?
My 11 year old nephew in Pennsylvania, has type 1 diabetes. He has to take insulin via needles while at school. It doesn't bother him to inject himself in either arm, or to prick his fingers, but he has problems when it comes to sticking himself in the pelvic or abdomen area. The school nurses refuses, on the grounds that she doesn't want to be responsible, the school district itself doesn't want his brother to inject him with the insulin. The medicine itself makes my nephew always hungry at school, which their policy is no eating in class. Because of this DHS Child Welfare Protective Services as known in other states , is claiming his mother a school teacher is neglecting him. There is no way that she can be there to give her son his medicine, while she is working at another school. His father is a public transportation supervisor can't possibily be there. DHS is acting as if they might try to remove him and his siblings from the home or try to have my sister who has close to 20 years with the school district. I suggested that she get in touch with her union, and offered to get in touch with a friend who is an attorney with DHS. What she should do and how can I a school district police officer myself help my sister and nephew, to get them to back the hell away from my family. I would also like to know how long does childhood diabetes last and what happens as the child gets older. Would excercise, athletics and proper dier, help this turn into type 2 diabetes in which you can take pills instead. Please help.
